When it is cast the shards start spin ning around the caster in tight orbits at tremendous velocity the shards will not effect the casters movement attacks or spells. ( they move with the caster) If anyone tries to physically attack the caster he must make a dex check at -4 for each shard or the shard kind of hits him each shards hits for 4D10 points of damage When a shard hits it explodeds into a ice storm(4th level wizard spell) which causes 3d10 of damage the ice storm effect will not harm the caster at all a globe of invulnerablity will protect the person from the ice storms but not the impacts of the shard If that was not bad enough each round the caster can command 1 shard to spiral out at a target hitting it and causing a ice storm(no hit roll needed) see notes on 10th level spells
