Date: Sun, 17 Oct 1993 14:20:08 -0500 From: "Life is a Highway...Speed Zone 120mph" Subject: A spell: Chill Grasp This spell was created through the research of a mage who couldn't find all that many offensive spells and figured hell just combine the two and here is the end result: Level: 4 Spell Name: Chill Grasp Saving Throw: None for damage Duration: Special Area of effect: The Creature touched Cast Time: 1 This spell combines Shocking Grasp and Chill Touch. As on Chill Touch the cold aura is Generated and creates an aura around the caster covering him on all sides. All attackers should make a saving throw vs. fear or Paralysis. The next aspect of this spell is the release of an electrical discharge when the character touches a creature. The charge is a little less damaging than the original Shocking Grasp spell due to the energy being diverted to the Chill aura. The damage ends up as 1d6+1/level. There is no saving throw for damage. So guys (and gals) what do you think of it? I thoughtit was kinda nifty but then that's just my opinion...let's hear others out there? Any questions? I'll be glad to answer. Burning Hands of Savanthalas Range: 5 feet Components: V,S Duration: 1 round Casting time: 1 (if using both hands and an extra point) Area of Effect: As directed by the spellcaster Saving throw: 1/2 When the wizard casts this spell flame shoots out of his hand (he has a choice of using one or both of his hands). This spell is meant to be versatile and as such it also allows one to use a throwing weapon if the player has a dex of 18 (anything less than 18 receives a negative to the hit roll, 18 only hits on a normal roll no bonuses). The damage is 1d4+2 points for each level of experience. Creatures who make their saving throws versus spells receive only half damage from the spell but can still be nailed by thrown weapon. Ok guys i admit this spell is a rather nasty twist on the burning hands spell making it into a flame thrower almost (the general idea, I HATE undead) admittedly i am not a "rules" type of player so please no flames if i broke something. Well that's all i'd have to say...oh yeah it is classed as a Level 3 spell in a world where magic is very rare (My characetr had to research this. ...from bits and pieces). Also i would like feedback ideas on fixing it up and what not. Thanx :-).
