Teht's Improved Scent Mask and Aziel's Fluxuating Silence are both Alterations, and Protect Building From Fire is an Abjuration. Please excuse the third post, joe Date: Wed, 27 Jan 1993 12:49:00 CST From: PHY_SHAFFER@VALPO.bitnet Subject: new spells Here are three new spells for you to ponder. I would appreciate questions, comments, and short speechs. Teht's Improved Scent Masking Level:3 Range: 10 yrds/lvl Duration: 1rnd/lvl Casting Time: 2 AOE: 1 creature or item Components: V,S,M Save: Neg This spell is similar Drawiji's (sp) Scent Mask in the Greyhawk Hardbound, with the added benefit of not only masking the scent of the recipiant, but also be able to make the target smell like something else. However, the recipiant is not immune to the smell, so don't make your friends smell like trogs! The material component is a piece of what you wish to make the target smell like: skunk fur to freshen up your mother in law for example. Aziel's Fluxuating Silence Level: 6 Range: 10 yrds/lvl Duration: 2rnds/lvl Casting Time: 5 Area of Effect: special Components: v,s Save: None Similar to the cleric spell _slience_ this spell only differs in area of effect. The recipient of this spell can extend the AOE up to a maximum 10 ft or to the minimum of hugging him skin tight and even only covering certain parts of his body. The AOE can be shaped however the recipient wishes, all by mental command(verbal commands would defeat the purpose). Fluxuating Silence is ideal for being stealthy but retaining spell casting ability. Aziel's Protect Building from Fire (reversible) Level: 6 Range: 10 yrds/lvl Duration: Permanent Casting Time: 2 hours AOE:1 Building up to a cube 50'xlvl on a side Components:V,S,M Save: none This spell renders an area completely immune to fire. No normal fires will burn withing the area of effect. Magical fires will burn but will not ignite anything. This spell will not stop damage from heat. The reverse of this spell will negate the the protection, but its area of effect can be limited to only affect certain small areas to allow for fireplaces and cooking hearths within the protected area. This spell was created to protect the Great Library of Alexandra in my campaign. (yes, it's a cheesy rip off, but we had fun.) Hope you like them. joe
