Here's the whole list of the new race descriptions and the corresponding abilities. I know a changed a few more of the race abilities that I said earlier. But, I still think they're balanced and appropriate and I hope you'll like them. Trolls were first bred in the First Age of Starlight by Melkor who desired a race powerful like the ents, fierce and strong, but without much intelligence. Trolls are twice the height and weight of the mightiest humans and they have skin that's rock hard and unpiercable by all but the strongest of weapons. Yet, most of the first trolls couldn't even master the most rudimentary of languages because of their low intelligence, and many a troll has been deceived and caught in the sunlight whereby they turn to stone. Therefore, trolls fear the sunlight and hide from it because it means their very lives. However, a race of trolls were bred to be cunning and unafraid of sunlight. These are the Olog-Hai who have since become the dominant troll race. The Olog- Hai are cunning and as intelligent as some humans but even then, the defeat of Sauron has weakened them and many wander around without a purpose feeding on rotten flesh. Race Ability: -Trolls can eat enemies for food. Vampires were first giant bloodsucking bats that were altered by Melkor in the First Age of the Sun into a humanoid form. Vampires are unusually cunning and powerful, able to charm their victims before they feed on their very life force. Disguised as humans, they are able to get close before making their move on a victim. As an undead being, a vampire is extremely afraid of the sun, however, it doesn't affect a vampire in a negative way. At night, though, they have extremely amplified powers, able to continue to fight when most races are knocked unconscious with such power to make a vampire a considerable enemy; one you shouldn't take lightly. They appear roughly as a human except for extremely pale skin and sharp fanged teeth that they use to bite their victims. During the day, a vampire rarely ventures outside, but they have been known to do so. Vampires are shunned by many races, however, the addition of a vampire to a party doesn't usually cause much problems. Race Ability: -Vampires can still fight with negative hitpoints at night. The race of elves is the most noble of races ever conceived. In the very beginning when Arda was first taking shape, Eru created two races: one that possessed immortality and great power both mentally and physically, and another race considered sickly at first but turned out to have great power in their mortality. The first race is the elves while the second race is the race of humans. Elves are the first race mentioned besides Eru's firstborn children, the Valar and Maiar; they are known as the secondborn. They awoke in the First Age of Starlight and while gazing at the sky for the first time, the light of the stars was captured in their silver and grey colored eyes from that day forward. Extremely fair, elves are admired by most other races and their pointed ears can pick up any sound. Elves are also the source of all the world's knowledge and wisdom. Because of this well known fact, being aquainted with an elf is a privilege, but having an elvish friend is treasured. Race Ability: -Elves learn skills at a slightly higher rate than other races. Sprites are small creatures presumed to be related to faeries. They are mysterious, magical creatures with pointed ears and small transparent wings that aren't quite big enough to lift them into the air. Sprites are extremely small, only around 12-16 inches tall and extremely hard to hit. Although this is an advantage, sprites have a hard time physically fighting because of their size unless they get additional training. But this ability combined with strong magic, as well as extremely keen eyesight, allows a sprite to defeat enemies significantly larger than itself without taking too much damage. Although it can fight, however, a sprite will usually try to remain hidden or will try to scare an enemy away. Fighting is usually used as a last resort, even though more adventurous sprites have made a life for themselves venturing into the world far beyond their home. Not much more is known about this small race as to their characteristics or their behavior. Race Ability: -Sprites have extremely good vision without the aid of a torch. Humans are the final children of Eru that awoke in the First Age of the Sun. Unlike elves, however, this race is mortal and considered to be weaker. Yet, within their mortality lies a great strength and they have managed to populate even the most dreary of places. Humans are bright and intelligent, able to learn the most difficult concepts. They are also extremely adaptive, able to pick up almost any skill relatively quickly and can pick any guild unlike other races that are best suited for one or two guilds at most. Humans have average statistics, no strengths and no weaknesses. They are also just as strong during the day as in night. Finally, humans have a keen sense for self- preservation, giving all their strength when it seems all is lost. Race Ability: -Humans have a higher chance of a critical hit or riot blade when hitpoints are low. Werewolves are distantly related to both wolves and wargs, however, they are far more intelligent. In many cases, they have been mistaken for humans that turn into a wolf-like figure on a full moon. However, since there hasn't been any eyewitnesses to verify this myth, it is dismissed. Werewolves are misunderstood and have been hunted by mainly humans because they go into an extreme rage every full moon even though during this period, they can still maintain control mentally. Physically, they increase in power immensely but due to the immense strain of keeping control, they can't concentrate enough to use skills or spells. Werewolves do resemble both human and wolf in form, standing upright and having the ability to talk like humans, as well as having a pronounced snout and a tail like members of the canine family. Because werewolves are misunderstood, very little is known as to other social habits and characteristics, however. Race Ability: -Every full moon, werewolves go into a full rage. Ents are a race of treelike people. They are the original shepherds of the trees, the guardians of the forests, envisioned and created by Yavanna to prevent the dwarves from cutting down all the forests. Ents are untrusting of anyone who bears an axe or anyone that harms the flora of Arda without a reasonable purpose. They stand extremely tall, around 14 feet, and they rival the height of both trolls and some giants. Ents are also extremely powerful, able to crush even stone with their bare hands. In the past, the ents slowly died out in middle earth searching for their entwives that weren't found. Ents do exist as both male and female, though. The females prefer cultivating and nurturing the lesser plants while the males prefer the forests. Yet, the race continues to dwindle despite the fact ents are almost immortal, living thousands of years. Race Ability: -Ents can't drown even in the deepest water. Orcs were created by Melkor the Vala, also known as Morgoth the Dark Enemy, in the First Age of Stars from tortured elves in the depths of Angband, Melkor's lair. Orcs represent the opposite of what the elves do: pain, suffering, and hatred. However, orcs are physically powerful having cold, black, poisonous blood and dark, charred skin. They also reproduce extremely rapidly and since they are afraid of light, they tend to congregate in dark caves under mountain ranges. This produces extreme competition and many orcs perish at the hands of their own kind. As time passed and after Melkor was banished from Arda, Sauron the Maia, chief servant of Melkor, bred a more powerful race of orcs known as the Uruk-Hai that were unafraid of sunlight. These orcs have since become the dominant branch of the race and have spread throughout the various lands causing trouble everywhere they go. Race Ability: -Orcs have a greater chance of attacking twice in the same round. The giants are a race of extremely huge, powerful creatures that are human in appearance. Giants are extremely unintelligent, however, and they have a hard time mastering new concepts. They get frustrated easily and they tend to get angry as well. Short in temper, they have been known to hurl huge boulders at their opponents and one blow could cause fatal damage. Living in the mountain ranges of Arda, their snoring has been mistaken for thunder and they usually look like a huge hill when lying down. Because they are of such immense proportions, usually over 20 feet tall, giants are able to use most weapons in one hand. Giants are also fiercely territorial, defending it from trespassers. Usually, most people flee when they discover a giant is in the area because an encounter could mean their life. Race Ability: -Giants can equip two-handed weapons in one hand. Hobbits are also known as halflings, short human-like creatures with huge stomachs and equally huge appetites. Hobbits are of three kinds, the Harfoots, the Fallohides, and the Stoors. Harfoots are the most common and they are also the smallest. The Stoors, in contrast, are the largest, able to grow beards and ride horses. They range greatly in size from two to four feet in height and they are an extremely peaceful race. Of brave hobbits, there are few, though, because most prefer to live a simple life ranging from 100-120 years in their hobbit holes. However, some hobbits take on a life of adventuring and because of their size, they can elude capture easier than most other people of other races can. Race Ability: -Hobbits can eat twice as much food as other races. Draconians are people resembling that of both dragons and humans. Little is known about this race as to its origins or customs, though it is believed that the draconians are not only members of an ancient race existing before most others, but that they also come from a land very far away that is unknown by even the elves. Generally, they are bipedal humanoids with lizard features such as a triangular head, a forked tongue, and scaly skin. Draconians also have extremely sharp claws, a second transparent eyelid used for seeing underwater, and small, leathery wings useless for flying. They are even rumored to breathe huge amounts of flame. Yet, despite all this power, a draconian will rarely use its powers for harm and when it does, it's usually for the greater good. A most noble race, draconians certainly deserve the respect paid to them. Race Ability: -Draconians can breathe fire on their enemies causing extreme damage. Demons are members of a widely unknown race, recently surfacing from deep inside the earth out of an enormous volcano. They are known to be beings created by fire, yet it is unknown by whom or what. It is rumored that demons are ancient servants of Morgoth, related to balrogs, that were recently released to do his bidding. All of this is speculation, however, and nobody knows whether this is true or merely rumor. As for external appearance, demons' skin color ranges from dark red to almost black and their hair color likewise is about the same. Their eyes glow with a peculiar light shining from within, seemingly able to stare right through someone. Enormous physical strength is also contained within their bodies as they have both sharp teeth and pointed claws to fight with. Race Ability: -Demons have a natural resistance to fire and blaze attacks. Dwarves are a strong, stout race conceived by Aule the Smith in the Ages of Darkness. Taller than hobbits, yet shorter than elves, dwarves are great smiths, able to create the finest tempered weapons and armor. Aule at first hid the dwarves from even Eru, but upon discovery, they were allowed to live and were put in a dormant state until the elves awakened when the stars were rekindled by Varda the Vala. Dwarves live in both caves and underground amassing great wealth that makes even the dragons envious. They are also a stubborn folk, deeply set in their ways and unable to change very quickly. Throughout the ages, dwarves have mostly kept to themselves although they will unite with elves, men, and other races with a common purpose. Race Ability: -Dwarves are able to collect more gold pieces off enemies than other races. Gargoyles are a race of people admired for both their appearance and determination. A gargoyle has an impressive wingspan as well as a fear inspiring appearance. As a result, humans have carved images of gargoyles into their castles to frighten their enemies. Gargoyles are extremely vigilant, pursuing their objective to the very end if need be. Gargoyles do have an impressive ability unlike other races as well, this being, a limited flying ability. They especially like to glide close to the moon in the night, casting their shadow on the ground and gazing across the moonlit countryside. People gazing upward have often mistaken gargoyles for bats since they are rarely seen in the day. In fact, gargoyles like to stay away from others in general, especially during the day, but they are known to join with others they trust. Race Ability: -Gargoyles take no damage from falling off cliffs. Felinoids are a race of catlike bipeds. They are extremely agile and graceful, able to leap long distances and run especially fast. However, they are also extremely curious which tends to get them into compromising situations if they don't keep it under control. Felinoids have extremely sharp retractable claws, good eyesight, and extremely keen hearing. They are catlike in appearance as well, having long tails, whiskers, and pointed ears. Their hair is usually neutrally colored, being a combination of white, black, grey, and brown and as a result, they have natural camouflage. Felinoids are nocturnal hunters, able to sneak up on their enemy and then pouncing on them before they have a chance to react. Race Ability: -Felinoids have a higher chance of catching enemies off guard.
